8TH GRADE GRADUATION ACTIVITIES
PORTFOLIO DAY — JUNE, DURING ENGLISH CLASSES
GRAD NIGHT PARTY — JUNE 3, 2011, 7-10PM

- WHERE: Los Altos Youth Center (LAYC), One North San Antonio Road, Los Altos, (between the Los Altos City Hall and the Police Department)
- Dancing, games (such as DDR and Twister) , photos, and much, much more!
- Light refreshments will be served; no dinner provided
- Dress in nice school clothes; school dress code applies
- Students must stay the entire time (until 10 pm) unless excused by a parent
RAGING WATERS TRIP - JUNE 9, 2011

Students are to arrive at school at the regularly scheduled time and report to the amphitheatre area. Teachers will take attendance and students will then participate in a graduation run-thru. Mrs. Dyckman will then release the students to board the buses at approximately 9:00 am. The buses will depart from Raging Waters and return to Egan around 4:00 pm. Pick up your child in the Egan parking lot at 4:00 pm.
Lunch is provided by Raging Waters in the Tiki Barbecue Area. Students may choose between a hamburger, hot dog, or veggie burger at the time of ticket purchase. Raging Waters does not allow any food to be brought into the park; water bottles are allowed. Please bring money if you wish to purchase other food or drink from the Food Concessions open in the main part of the park.
Bring a swimsuit, beach towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, water bottle(s), and a backpack for your belongings. Glass containers of any kind are prohibited due to safety. Nylon swimwear is recommended for all water attractions. For safety reasons, long pants, cut-offs, denim, or swimsuits with rivets or exposed ornaments are not permitted on the attractions.. Staff and parent volunteers will be accompanying the students and will remain through the day. We are hopeful that this event will be memorable one for the 8th students.
GRADUATION CEREMONY - JUNE 10, 2011

- 8th Graders must arrive at 10:30 am.
- Weather permitting graduation will be outside.
- School dress code applies*. Dressy casual: Please no tuxedos, jeans, or semi-formal dresses.
- Boys wear nice shirts and ties or polo shirts. Girls wear summer dresses that would be appropriate for an afternoon party. Strapless dresses are inappropriate for Jr. High graduation.
- Guests are welcome. Graduation ceremony is a free event.
- Parking in school parking lots is limited, however the blacktop will be open for the ceremony.
- Street parking is available, but you may need to walk several blocks to campus.
- Reminders will follow as the big day approaches.
