EGAN'S 2012 STAR TEST RESULTS:
I am excited to share with you Egan’s API, Academic Performance Index, issued from the April/May 2012 STAR testing, California Standardized Testing and Reporting. Egan’s API score has not been posted, usually the state posts it in early October. Congratulations to our teachers, staff, students, and supportive parent community.
One amazing score was last year's 7th grade class (our current 8th grade students) writing results (score rubric 8-6-4-2): This puts 98% of our students in the proficient or advanced range!
- 87% of our students scored an 8, the highest possible score on the students’ actual writing
- 11% of our students scored a 6 – truly wonderful scores
I certainly want to send Kudos to our 7th grade English team, who developed an effective and strong writing program.
Some other wonderful indicators for our 7th grade students (our current 8th grade class) are the following:
- 94% of our 7th grade students were proficient or advanced in English Language Arts
- 91% were proficient or advanced in Math
And Last year's 8th grade students (high school freshman this year) scored (please note the science score this year):
- 93% proficient or advanced in Language Arts
- 80% proficient or advanced in Algebra
- 91% proficient or advanced in History
- 97% proficient or advanced in sciencee
Our academic program continues to build a strong foundation for our students’ future successes, and we continue to hear how successful they are in high school.
