HOT LUNCH PROGRAM


Welcome to Egan Hot Lunch

Welcome to the Fall 2010-2011 Hot Lunch Program. We are pleased to offer lunch five days a week. Session 1 Hot Lunch will begin on Monday, August 30th and end Friday, January 21st. Ordering will begin Monday, August 9th and end on Wednesday, August 25th (no exceptions!). Refer to the Egan Fall Lunch Menu to see Session 1 Hot Lunch menu.

All hot lunches are designed to comply with state guidelines that specify the nutritional content of food served and/or sold at school. We have developed a program that offers tasty and popular meals from local vendors (such as Chef Chu's, Spot's, Sumo Sushi, Pasta Market, Daphne's Greek Cafe, Estrellita’s, and House of Bagel) while still following the state nutritional guidelines.

This year Egan Hot Lunch is going green! A water filtration system has been installed at Egan allowing students to refill re-usable water bottles brought from home rather than receive non-reusable water bottles with lunch. We are also requesting our vendors deliver food in compostable packaging. Egan is excited to significantly reduce its carbon footprint in 2010/2011.

The Hot Lunch Program is the primary PTA fundraiser for Egan. When you order lunch it saves you time and enhances your child’s education through your PTA contributions. We appreciate your support.

Principal's Lunch Scholarships

If you would like to help defer cost for providing Hot Lunch to students who can not financially afford them, please add $10 or $20 to your order in the “Principal Scholarship” line on the on-line order form.  The money will be earmarked only for the Scholarships and handled by Brenda Dyckman.  The donors and recipients will remain anonymous.  Thank you for your help.

All Lunch Orders Must Be Placed On-line

Using the on-line system will eliminate data entry errors and allow us to start the Hot Lunch Program sooner.  If you do not have access to the Internet, ask a friend to help you, use the computers at the public library or school library, or contact us.  Through the on-line system, you can order your lunch, view/print the fall lunch calendar, view/print your personal calendar and view/print your order.

Paying for Hot Lunch Order: After ordering, You can pay for your child's Hot Lunch order using one of two ways. 1) you can pay for your child's Hot Lunch order using the online Back-to-School ordering/registration form, which has a designated Hot Lunch page that lets you enter your Hot Lunch order number and order amount. This Hot Lunch order amount is automatically added to the Back-to-School Registration total, allowing you to consolidate and pay all your back-to-school related expenses in one check; or 2) you can write a check payable to "Egan PTA" and drop it off at the Egan office anytime during the first week of school or at Schedule Day. Make sure you include the Order Number in the check’s memo area.

NOTE: All orders must be entered by August 25th, 2010. Sorry, we cannot accept late orders and cannot give refunds. Also, if your child misses hot lunch due to illness or a field trip, no refunds will be given. Please consider the missed lunch a donation to the school.
