HIGHWAY TO HIGH SCHOOL - OVERVIEW
This web page was created as a resource for Egan 8th graders and their parents to help with the transition to high school. Since most students from Egan will attend Los Altos High School (LAHS), this page is focused on that transition. Students from Egan tend to do as well or better at LAHS than they did at Egan. Egan prepares them well, both academically and socially, for high school.

| February | School Information System (SIS) account information mailed to parents |
| February | Shadowing days for 8th graders |
| February | Distribution of LAHS registration packets to junior high schools |
| February | High School counselors at Egan to meet with students |
| February | Los Altos High School leadership students at Egan to meet with 8th grade students to talk about the high school and answer questions |
| February | 8th grade students select high school classes online at Egan computer lab |
| April | Schedule verification mailed home |
| May | College Evening for 8th graders and parents |
