Title:
Assistant Principal
Dena Zacanti

I’m one of the lucky people who gets up every day and looks forward to connecting with my students and making a difference. I have spent 25+ years in LASD inspiring, motivating, encouraging, and supporting children. Early in my career I taught 5th and 6th grade at Almond and Loyola. After having two children of my own, I moved to the middle school teaching Health and Physical Education. My passion in teaching is to focus on social emotional growth. I not only want to connect with my students, I want them to connect with each other. We can all celebrate our differences and be open to new ideas. I encourage students to be active and to balance work and play. I have a love for all sports! I played sports throughout high school and in college. I’ve coached volleyball, soccer, and track. When I’m not working, I cherish the time with my now grown daughters. You may find us at a Giants game, hiking at Rancho, relaxing at the beach, or just enjoying a backyard BBQ with family and friends.
