Title:
Spanish
Lidia Ingah

I was born and raised in the Island of Mallorca, Spain. Since birth, I lived in a hotel most of the year since my parents owned and directed one. There is where my passion to interact and communicate with people of other countries and cultures came from. I wanted to break the language barriers, to enrich others and to enrich myself from a larger group of friends. I started, then, to teach Spanish to the children coming to stay in the hotel as they taught me their languages as well. At college age, I decided I wanted to become a foreign language teacher to continue nurturing my passion to make this world a world based on mutual understanding among different cultures and, after getting my degree on teaching languages and my teaching credentials, I worked in a World Language school to help children of immigrants to learn Spanish and to adapt to their new life in Spain. Soon after, I was given the opportunity to do an internship as an Spanish teacher in Monterey, California, where I obtained my teaching credentials and I was hired to continue working there as a teacher in several private and public schools. Teaching my language and culture is extremely fun and meaningful to me and seeing my students smiling with joy through the process makes the full process even more magical.
